Oil is one of Costa Rica's nonrenewable resources.

There are many minerals in Costa Rica. Some of them are diatomite, lime, pumice, silver, marine salt, crushed stone, sand and gravel. Those were all mined in 2001. Mineral production in 2001 contained of cement, common clays, sandstone, and limestone.
